"Beached" Catholic Church

Originally constructed in 1868 this Hancock County Catholic church was lifted from its foundation and pushed across the highway by Hurricane Katrina's swell.  Four years later the building, a historical treasure, remains beached directly across from its original foundation.  The words "do not destroy building" are painted on the rear of the church, keeping salvagers away.
